Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Blanks Manhattanville, 4-0

Purchase, NY – The Montclair women's soccer team (3-0-2) showed another strong performance on Sunday evening when they went on the road and blanked Manhattanville, 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawk was dominate right out of the gate. They held Manhattanville to zero first half shots, while firing off a plethora of their own. In the first 20 minutes of the game, Montclair saw five corner kicks and tallied seven shots, but were unable to find the back of the net.
  • The first goal of the game was from SHANNON MULLINS, who buried her first goal of the season off a pass from NATALIE RUFINO at the 26:50 mark. The match went 1-0 into the second half.
  • Montclair's offense started seeing the goals come in the second half. ISABELL KRONOW continued her red-hot start to the season with a goal in the 51st minute to extend the lead to 2-0.
  • Just about six minutes later, in the 57th minute, MACKENZIE ALBERT found SAMIRA LUKOVIC, who fired in her second goal of the season and pushed the lead out to 3-0.
  • The only Valiant's offensive threat came in the 74th minute when they registered two shots on goal, only to be denied by SALANGE BELL.
  • LAUREN VINELLA put the exclamation point on the game with her first collegiate goal at the 81:25 timestamp to finalize the game at 4-0.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
 
  • Montclair was in control almost all game, outshooting Manhattanville 27-2 (14-2 on goal). They also saw a season high 12 corner kicks and held Manhattanville to none.
  • Kronow has continued to be a star for Montclair. She has contributed to a goal in each of Montclair's five games this season. She currently leads the NJAC with four assists and is second in points with 10.
  • Bell picked up her second shutout of the season and the 10th of her Montclair career.
