Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University women's lacrosse team will honor its nine seniors before matching up with Ramapo for an NJAC tilt on Wednesday night.

LAST TIME OUT
Montclair fell in its NJAC opener at #18 TCNJ, 14-4, last Wednesday. The Lions came out of the gates hot, stringing together three goals in just over the first three minutes of the game.
AMRA LUKOVIC won the ensuing draw, and Montclair used that possession to score its first goal of the game when
KAELEY SEK assisted
KYRA MORENA at 10:48. The Lions once again rattled off a trio of goals between 7:54 and 4:02 that pushed their lead to 6-1.
CARA MCCARTNEY generated two shots on goal late in the opening stanza, but was unable to score before the quarter ended. TCNJ scored a pair of goals early in the second to hold an 8-1 advantage. At 9:53,
LEXI ROBINSON collected a ground ball off a shot from Sek and hit the back of the net for the score. Following another Lions goal, Montclair put together an opportunistic possession, generating three shots from
SOPHIA PICCINICH,
MIA CUCCINELLO, and Lukovic, were unable to capitalize. The Lions scored on their next possession and found one more goal at the 3:41 timestamp to take an 11-2 advantage into the second half. Montclair forced a turnover at the beginning of the third that led to Robinson connecting with Sek for a goal. TCNJ put another goal on the board at the 10:13 mark, and the game went on a defensive standstill for about the next seven minutes.
JOEY GROTKOPF stonewalled a duo of shots during that time frame before letting one go at 3:52 that pushed the TCNJ lead to 13-3. The fourth quarter was an even bout, with both sides only scoring one goal apiece. Montclair outshot TCNJ 7-3 in the game, with most of those shots coming between 11:33 and 5:57. The Lions capped off their scoring at 2:22. With just 13 seconds remaining, Sek found one more goal that was assisted by Morena to put the game at a 14-4 final in favor of TCNJ.

SCOUTING RAMAPO
The Roadrunners enter this matchup just under .500 at 5-6, but are coming off a dominant 17-8 win against Maritime last Friday. In 2025, Ramapo went 5-8 and 0-5 in NJAC play and missed the conference tournament. According to the 2026 NJAC Preseason Poll, they are once again slated to finish sixth.
