Montclair, NJ- Announced on Monday afternoon by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office, Montclair State University football senior DIANTE WILSON and men's soccer junior SEBASTIAN LAPCZYNSKI were both named NJAC Athletes of the Week for their performances between September 21 and 27.
 
Wilson was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Lapczynski was named Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Wilson continues to be the bell cow for a Montclair team that earned a decisive 26-9 win at Wilkes on Saturday. The senior back toted the ball 35 times for 198 yards and a score. His 35 carries are tied for the sixth most in a single game in program history, while his 198 yards on the ground is eighth best all-time. He currently leads the NJAC in attempts (80), yards (450), and touchdowns (6) on the ground.
 
Lapczynski came up big for Montclair as they routed Christopher Newport, 6-0. He controlled a Red Hawk backline that earned the shutout against an unbeaten Captains team, while also kicking in a penalty that became the game-winner. Montclair has yet to surrender a home goal this season in four contests.
 
Wilson earns back-to-back NJAC Offensive Player of the Week awards, while Lapczynski earns his first weekly award of the year and his second Defensive Player of the Week award in his career.
 
Men's soccer is set to host Centenary (NJ) for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff tonight (Monday, September 28). Football returns home to Rick Giancola – Sprague Field for homecoming on Saturday, October 3, when they host their NJAC opener against Kean.
