Brandi Ritz is in her third season with the Red Hawks, coming to Montclair after serving two seasons as an assistant at Stevens Institute of Technology for the field hockey and women’s lacrosse programs.
During her stint with the Ducks, Ritz helped the field hockey team to the Empire 8 Conference Tournament (2016) and produced student-athletes that were named to the NFHCA All-Region, ECAC, and Empire 8 All-Conference teams. Additionally, Ritz played a crucial role in video editing, social media, and recruiting. Ritz also mentored the goalkeepers on the women’s lacrosse team and was influential in guiding Stevens to two Empire 8 Conference Championships and an appearance in the second-round NCAA tournament in 2018. Alongside former head coach, Celine Cunningham, and first assistant, Meg Clements, Ritz was named to the Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year. Ritz joined the Stevens staff after working as a graduate assistant at New England College in Henniker, N.H., serving as a coach on both the field hockey and women’s lacrosse staff. In that role, Ritz assisted in all aspects of the program, including recruiting and student-athlete development.
Before New England College, Ritz spent a season as the head field hockey coach at Robbinsville High School, compiling a 13-4 record in her rookie season, and received Colonial Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors. Ritz also spent time as an assistant on the Robbinsville varsity lacrosse team in addition to leading the junior varsity squad.
Ritz entered the coaching profession after a four-year playing career at Daniel Webster College. Ritz earned several distinctions as a student-athlete during that time, including Athlete of the Year, Sportsmanship Award, Coaches Award, and Most Valuable Player. Ritz also served as a field hockey captain from 2011-14 and earned letters in soccer, softball, lacrosse, and cross-country teams. She helped the field hockey squad win the New England Collegiate Conference, and made an appearance in the ECAC tournament in 2010.
Ritz owns a Level I Coaching Certification from USA Field Hockey, and has helped with various field hockey camps and clinics. She also assists with the Garden State Elite Lacrosse Club in Princeton, NJ. Additionally, Ritz serves as the Managing Director of Field Hockey at Centercourt Club and Sports. In this role, she promotes and plans for club teams and leagues throughout the Centercourt locations and is involved with budget forecasts for training and competition for field hockey. Ritz also is responsible for creating and organizing year-round training programs and organizing all ID Camps and tryouts.
A native of Burlington, New Jersey graduated from Daniel Webster College in 2014 and earned her MBA in Sport and Recreation Management in 2016.
