Kayleigh Thies begins her second season with the Red Hawks in 2016. Thies came to Montclair State following a successful career at Muhlenberg College. A three-time Centennial Conference selection, Thies capped off her career in 2014 earning a spot on the All-Conference and National Field Hockey Coaches Assocation South Atlantic Region First Teams. Thies, the Mules’ team captain, became the second Muhlenberg player to make the Centennial Conference First Team twice, and the first to do it in back-to-back years. Thies was also 2013 NFHCA All-American Third Team selection and played lacrosse earning Centennial All-Conference honors in 2014. Thies graduated from Muhlenberg this past spring with her degree in Psychology while also minoring in Business and Public Health. A counselor and clinician at several camps for both field hockey and lacrosse, Thies was also very active in the Muhlenberg community serving as the Student Athlete Mentors President in 2014 when she was in charge of the campus’ Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities in addition to planning of the Relay for Life. Thies also was an intern in the Department of Athletics and created the Hall of Fame website.
