Alex Iachetta begins his first season with the Red Hawks and will assist with the defensive line, a position he is more than familiar with having fashioned an outstanding career from 2008-2011. A two-time All-NJAC selection, Iachetta helped the Red Hawks to back-to-back NJAC Championships and NCAA Playoffs appearances in 2009 and 2002. He served as a team-captain for Montclair State in 2011 and earned First-Team All-NJAC honors as he posted 30 tackles and a sack in 10 games. Iachetta also had two sacks and returned an interception for a touchdown in a 20-0 win over William Paterson. He finished his career with eight sacks and 96 tackles. Iachetta was also a scholastic standout at Manasquan High School where he played three varsity seasons helping the Warriors to consecutive NJSIAA Group II State Championships as Manasquan went 23-1 during that time. A member of the Manasquan basketball team, he was named Second-Team All-State at defensive end and earned All-Shore and All-Conference accolades as well.
