Bill Shimko is back for his second season with the Red Hawks. A four-year starter, Shimko capped off an outstanding career in 2015 registering 84 tackles along with five interceptions and a league-leading 14 pass deflections . A three-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honoree, Shimko ranked seventh in the conference in tackles and was second in interceptions. A team captain, he was named First-Team All-NJAC and recorded eight or more tackles in eight of MSU's 10 games including back-to-back 12-tackle performances against Wesley and Frostburg State. Shimko also picked off two passes each in wins over Southern Virginia and Christopher Newport. He would be named First-Team All-East Region by D3Football.com and was later chosen Second-Team All-America by the organization. Shimko finished 14^th all-time at Montclair State with 260 tackles and ranks 10^th on the Red Hawk career list for passes defended with 29.
