Former All-America Chad Faulcon returns to the Red Hawks this season in his first coaching role as he will work with the MSU defensive backs. Faulcon completed his career at Montclair State in 2011 and was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference and D3Football.com East Region Defensive Player of the Year.  He was also chosen to the D3Football.com All-America Team. His outstanding campaign earned him a free-agent signing with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons in 2012 where he took part in the team’s rookie camp and organized team activities (OTA) and was invited to preseason camp. A two-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week selection, Faulcon registered 72 tackles and three interceptions for the NJAC runner-up Red Hawks in 2011 as Montclair went 8-2 overall, 7-2 in the league. He also helped MSU to back-to-back NJAC Championships and NCAA Division III Playoff appearances in 2009 and 2010. Faulcon made several key plays for MSU that season, including a two-interception performance in a 20-0 win over William Paterson in October. He also had a game-saving tackle at the end of the fourth quarter in the Red Hawks 37-31 overtime win at Rowan. A two-year starter for the Red Hawks, Faulcon, who signed with the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers, appeared in 40 career contests at MSU totaling 169 tackles, including 106 solo stops and 13 tackles for loss. He picked off seven passes in his career and tallied 17 pass breakups as well as four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a blocked kick.
