Montclair State University Athletics

Liam Nelson joined the Red Hawks as the Defensive Coordinator in 2023.

Nelson, who played at Montclair State, previously served as the Linebackers Coach at Division II East Stroudsburg University last season. It marked his third season with the Warriors after serving as a Graduate Assistant for two years.

Nelson's first coaching stop was Monmouth University during the Spring of 2020, as he was a Defensive Quality Control Coach. He earned his Bachelor's from Montclair State University and a Master's from East Stroudsburg in 2022.
