Entering his 19th year with the Red Hawks, Cieri will again serve his dual role as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line coach.

Entering his 47th season of coaching, including three decades at the collegiate level, his special teams units have ranked among the best in the NJAC the past several seasons while also producing the five NJAC Special Teams Players of the Year in kickers Marco Capozzoli (2009) and Hunter Daly (2017), returner Dan Keegan (2010 and 2011) and punter Joe Janovic (2014). Cieri came to Montclair State in 2002 from Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham where he held the positions of offensive, defensive and special teams coordinator. During his tenure at FDU, the Devils made two appearances in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships. Cieri, who earned his MA from Jersey City State in Biology, was also the head coach at Boonton High School for three seasons, where he compiled an overall record of 25-13. The now-retired Science Department Chair at Mount Olive High School is the father of two children, Michael and Carla.

Cieri is also author of 13 DVD compliations by Coaches Choice on various aspects of Special Teams and Defensive Line play as well as a two books entitled "101 Winning Special Teams Drills" and "101 Winning Defensive Line Drills". Cieri has also authored several articles featured in American Football Monthly.
