Steve Sciarappa begins his eighth season with the Red Hawks and will serve as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach in addition to his Associate Head Coach role in 2024. 

Sciarappa came to Montclair State after serving as an assistant at Monmouth University in 2015 helping the Hawks to a third-place finish in the Big South Conference. Before joining the Monmouth staff, Sciarappa spent five seasons as the head coach at Mater Dei Prep in Middletown, NJ. Sciarappa led the program to three consecutive playoff appearances including back-to-back semifinal berths in 2013 and 2014. He was named the Monmouth County Coach of the Year in 2013 by the Star Ledger and produced 20 Shore Conference selections during his tenure as he team was ranked among the highest scoring squads in the Shore Conference. Sciarappa was also in charge for fundraising and successfully implemented the "Football Annual Appeal" while also organizing the Mater Dei Prep Football Development Academy. Sciarappa was tabbed as the NJ.com Monmouth County Coach of the Year in 2013.

During that same time span, Sciarappa also served as the principal of Mater Dei Prep rebranding the school as a center of academic excellence. In addition he was also the Director of Campus Schools for St. Mary Parish overseeing Mater Dei Prep (grades 9-12) and St. Mary Elementary School (pre-K through 8). 

Sciarappa, who also coached at Central Regional and Monsignor Donovan High Schools, earned his bachelor's degree from Richard Stockton College (now Stockton University) and received his master's degree in Educational Leadership Management and Policy from Seton Hall University.
