Ian Chesney joined the men's soccer coaching staff prior to the start of the 2025 season after spending four years with the program as a student-athlete.

During his four years at Montclair, Chesney started all 82 of his appearances, accumulating 12 goals and 14 assists over 6,879 minutes. He was a Second Team All-American in 2023 and was named United Soccer Coaches Association First Team All-Region all four years. Chesey was a back-to-back NJAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024, and garnered First Team All-NJAC honors each season of his career.
