Rob McOmish is in his first season at his alma mater and will work with the Red Hawk goalkeepers. McOmish spent two seasons in a Montclair State soccer uniform. Coming to MSU in 1995, McOmish was named First-Team All-NJAC and First-Team All-Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) as he tallied six goals and five assists helping the Red Hawks to the ECAC Division III Metro Tournament championship game. The next year, McOmish played a integral part in leading Montclair back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four years as MSU went 13-5-2. He again earned First-Team honors at conference and regional levels and added one more as he was selected to the NSCAA All-America First Team. At the time, McOmish was only the eighth player in school history to earn All-America honors and just the second to be named to the First Team. Appearing in 19 games, he scored four goals and added two assists for 10 points and also received the ultimate honor as he was the only Division III player to be chosen to play in the Umbro/NSCAA Division I Senior All-Star Game. McOmish, who was inducted into the Montclair State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010, went on to a successful coaching career at nearby Montclair High School where he lead the girls soccer team to the school's first Group 4 state championship in 2014. He was named the Coach of the Year by NJ.com.
