Ali Cassera is in her first year with the Red Hawks and comes to Montclair State following a very successful career at Northwestern University where she helped the Wildcats to a pair NCAA Division I national championships and three Final Four appearances. Cassera capped off her brilliant career in 2013 starting 20 of 22 games while earning Second-Team American Lacrosse Conference honors in addition to being named to the ALC All-Tournament Team. She scored three times against Stanford in the NCAA Tournament and helped Northwestern to the national semifinals after scoring once in a win versus Penn State. Before joining the Wildcats, Cassera, a native of Fairfield, NJ, was a standout player at West Essex High School earning multiple All-America honors while leading the Knights to the Essex County and NJSIAA state championship in 2009. She also played field hockey and basketball at West Essex earning 12 letters in her prep career. Cassera won four state titles in field hockey and finished as the Knights’ all-time basketball leader in points, rebounds and steals and she was chosen as the Essex County Scholar-Athlete of the Year, An All-Big Ten Academic selection, Cassera majored in sociology with a minor in business institutions.
