Bryan Butler

Butler enters his second season as the assistant coach & recruiting coordinator for the Montclair State University Women’s soccer team.

Butler comes to Montclair State after a successful five years as the first assistant at DeSales University. During his time at DeSales University, Butler helped the Bulldogs to four straight MAC Freedom conference tournaments as well as two appearances to the MAC Freedom conference final.

In his four seasons at Desales, the Bulldogs collected over forty season wins including eighteen MAC Freedom conference victories. DeSales also had eighteen All Conference players, four All Region players, a Rookie of the Year, and Player of the Year who Butler helped coached. At DeSales, Butler’s main responsibilities included acting as the recruiting coordinator along with all team administrative work and coaching training sessions. He also played a big role in the scouting and analyzing of film to present to the players.

Butler arrived at DeSales after a successful season at Geneva College where he helped the Golden Tornadoes to a thirteen win season and a spot in the Presidents Athletic Conference final. Geneva clinched the number two seed during that season with a 6-1-1 conference record with Butler helping the attack to one of the top goal scoring offenses in the conference averaging 2.32 goals a game.

Butler has also been a strong presence in the youth soccer scene for over ten years now serving as the head coach for teams in Maryland and Pennsylvania. His teams have competed at top showcase tournaments throughout the country and many of his players have gone on to play at the collegiate level.

Butler played for Geneva College where he was a four year starter for the Golden Tornadoes. During his career, Butler was named a 2nd team All American while also being a four year all conference player from 2011-2014. After his collegiate career, Butler signed a professional contract with the Evergreen Diplomats in the American Soccer League for the 2015 season. Butler was a key part of the Diplomats run into the playoffs in 2015.

Butler has a B.S. in Sports Management from Geneva College and earned his M.S. from Liberty University in Sports Administration.
