Mary Consol is the newcomer to the Red Hawks staff in 2013 after a solid career at Springfield College where she helped the Pride to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Elite 8 in 2011. A force in the middle for Springfield from 2009-12, Consol totaled 261 career blocks, 143 coming during the 2011 campaign as the Pride went 34-3 claiming the NEWMAC championship. Springfield advanced to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship in St. Louis that season earning that berth with a four-set win over UMass-Boston as Consol collected six blocks. Consol, who hails from Long Valley, NJ, closed out her career in 2012 with 315 kills and 116 blocks as Springfield went 27-8 reaching the finals of the NEWMAC Tournament. She was selected to the New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic and was selected as one of New England’s Top 35 Division III volleyball players.
