Dave Jones joined the Montclair State Athletics staff during the spring of 2023 as the Athletic Operations & Equipment Manager.
In his role, he is primarily responsible for the organization & operation of the Athletic Equipment Room, athletic laundry facilities, & facility management for the Panzer Athletic Center. In addition, he serves as a member of our operations team, providing support in the areas of facility management, game day operations, & overall athletic logistics. Jones is also the scheduling liaison between Athletics & Health/Physical Education.
Jones came to Montclair after most recently serving as the Director of Soccer Operations for NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL). No stranger to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), Jones served as Athletic Equipment & Event Manager at nearby William Paterson for nearly six years.
Prior to returning to NJ, Jones spent one season with the NWSL's Orlando Pride during their inaugural season, where he served as the equipment manager in 2016. Prior to that, he worked at Stevens Institute of Technology as an Athletics event manager during the 2015-16 academic year, and as a facilities and operations assistant during the Spring 2015 semester.
A team attendant for the Brooklyn Nets (2014-16, 2021-25) and the operations manager for the NWSL’s Sky Blue FC (2013-14), Jones served in a variety of roles for Major League Soccer’s (MLS) New York Red Bulls from 2008-13, including the scouting coordinator from September of 2010 until January of 2013.
Jones graduated cum laude from Ramapo College in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in communication arts, and was inducted into the national communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta. In addition, Jones obtained his master’s degree in Sports Administration from William Paterson University in August 2022 and is a proud member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA).
