Montclair State University Athletics

The two freshmen share the award after posting strong performances in their first collegiate meet helping Montclair State to a fifth-place finish at the CTC Relay Carnival at Yale University against a field of Division I, II and III squads. The duo were part of two relay squads that posted Top 3 finishes. Thomas ran the leadoff leg and Muhammad the all-important third leg as the Red Hawks sprint medley team finished second in the 1,600 meter event with a time of 4:26.18. In the 4x400 relay, Muhammad was the second leg and Thomas the anchor as MSU placed third in the event clocking in at 4:11.12.
