Johnston, the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, helped keep the No. 1 ranked Red Hawks unbeaten last week as Montclair improved to 8-0 with wins against Ramapo and 15th-ranked Cortland. She registered 10 points, scoring five goals in the two games and now has eight goals and three assists for 19 points through the first eight contests in 2013. Johnston moved into third place in the NJAC among the scoring leaders at 2.38 points per contest and is tied for second in the league in goals scored. Johnston scored the first two goals of the game in the first five minutes as MSU opened defense of its NJAC title with an 8-0 win over Ramapo. She then recorded her first career hat trick with three goals, including two in the first half as the Red Hawks knocked off 15th-ranked Cortland, 6-3.
