Struss, named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week, wins the first award of the season after helping the 12th-ranked Red Hawks get off to a 3-0 start with all three victories coming on the road. The three consecutive victories to open the season mark the third time in the last five years that MSU is 3-0 to being a campaign. Struss tallied 11 points on five goals and an assist in three games. She scored Montclair's first goal of the season in the opener at Eastern University tying the contest at 1-1 in the first half, a game the Red Hawks would later come from behind to win 4-3 giving head coach Eileen O'Reilly her first career victory. Three days later, Struss, the 2014 NJAC Rookie of the Year, had a hand in the first four Montclair State goals in a 7-1 win against Cabrini College at the Drew Fall Festival. Struss scored the first two goals and assisted on the third before recording her second career hat trick. Struss wrapped up her week with the first goal in the Red Hawks 3-0 shutout win over Lebanon Valley the next day. Struss currently leads the NJAC in points scored and goals.
