Nelson became the second different Red Hawk to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping Montclair State secure a 24-0 NJAC win over Christopher Newport. In the victory he notched nine total tackles, including five solo stops and 2.0 tackles for loss. He also secured an interception in the contest that helped the Red Hawks record its first shutout of the season.
