Gomes recorded the first hat trick of her career helping the 21st-ranked Red Hawks to a pair of New Jersey Athletic Conference victories. The freshman tallied seven points on three goals and an assist as Montclair State improved to 13-1-1 on the season and more importantly remained atop the league standings. After helping the Red Hawks to a 4-3 overtime victory over Kean on Wednesday, Gomes scored three times and added an assist as MSU knocked of New Jersey City on the road, 5-2. Gomes scored her ninth, 10th and 11th goals of the season notching MSU’s second, fourth and fifth goals in the victory. For the season, Gomes leads the team in points scored (26) and its tied for goals scored (11). She currently ranks third in the NJAC in both points and goals scored.
