FRANK FRANCIA bounced into a fielder's choice, however an error at second allowed the Red Hawks to load the bases. Gallagher was sent up to pinch hit and drilled the first pitch he saw from lefty Devine for a grand slam, tying the game at 4-4. It was the second straight game Gallagher cracked a pinch-hit homer, having done it on Monday at Point Loma.

In the bottom of the inning, Devine singled and went to second on a passed ball. Matt Cresto walked however a fielder's choice erased Devine at third for the first out. Aaron Hill followed with a sacrifice fly but Montclair State couldn't escape the inning as Cordova singled to left scoring Rooper with the winning run.

Gallagher (0-1) suffered the loss in relief.
