STEPHANIE SABALIAUSKAS (Edison, NJ/St. Mary Academy) scored one of five second half goals by Montclair State as the Red Hawks blanked New Jersey City, 5-0 in NJAC action on Wednesday afternoon.
DANIELLE MALYSKA (Dayton, NJ/S. Brunswick), the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week, added a goal for the Red Hawks (9-1-3, 4-1-1 NJAC), who outshot the Gothick Knights (2-8, 0-5 NJAC), 36-1.
Sabaliauskas snapped a scoreless tie in the second half with her fourth goal of the season, a chip into the lower right corner past NJCU goalkeeper ERIKA PADILLA. SHANNON HART (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) extended the lead to 2-0 at the 55:28 mark with her third goal.
Malyska's sixth goal of the season at 60:56 pushed Montclair State's lead to 3-0 and LAUREN ROTA (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Indian Hills) added a goal with 20:38 to play. SUSAN HINDS (Westfield, NJ/Westfield)) capped off the MSU scoring with her fourth of the season with just under 20 minutes remaining.
STEPHANIE ROMANKO (N. Brunswick, NJ/N. Brunswick) made just one save in posting her eighth shutout of the season.
