Upper Montclair, NJ - The Montclair State University women's soccer team claimed a 4-1 win over visiting North Carolina Wesleyan in a non-conference game today at MSU Soccer Park at Pittser Field. Montclair is now 11-2-3 overall this season, while NC-Wesleyan falls to 10-4-1.

Freshman forward LIZ D'ALTO (Clifton, NJ) scored three goals for the Red Hawks, including the game-winner, while junior defender SHANNON HART (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) chipped in with a goal and an assist. D'Alto broke a scoreless tie with a goal at 25:40, before senior midfielder Shannon St. George (Newton, PA/Archbishop Wood) tied the game for the Battling Bishops at 35:18.

D'Alto then put MSU ahead to stay at 53:54 off a rebound, before Hart made it 3-1 at 72:44. D'Alto then closed out the scoring on a long shot that rolled into a vacant NC-Wesleyan net at 88:14. Junior goalkeeper STEPHANIE ROMANKO (N. Brunswick, NJ/N. Brunswick) made six saves for MSU, while junior Rachael Whicker (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) stopped five shots for NC-Wesleyan. The Battling Bishops outshot MSU, 15-9, on the afternoon.
