Hillside, NJ (10/06/01) - The Montclair State University women's soccer team defeated host Kean University this afternoon by a 1-0 count. The Red Hawks are now 8-1-3 overall (3-1-1 NJAC), and 5-0-1 on the road this season.

Senior midfielder DANIELLE MALYSKA (Dayton, NJ/South Brunswick) scored the game's only goal with just 1:21 remaining in regulation. It was her fifth goal of the season, and her fourth in the last three games.

Junior goalkeeper STEPHANIE ROMANKO (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) finished with three saves for the Red Hawks in notching her seventh shutout of the season and the 28th of her career as MSU outshot Kean, 19-6. Freshman forward LIZ D'ALTO (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) led Montclair with four shots.

The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in a conference matchup at NJCU at 3:30 p.m.
