Cinnaminson, NJ – After being shutout in its last contest, Montclair State put double digits on the scoreboard as the Red Hawks remained unbeaten in NJAC play with a 10-2 win over Rutgers-Camden at Memorial Park on Friday afternoon.
Senior catcher
JEFF SCHRIBER went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI as the Red Hawks improved to 14-7 overall while staying perfect in conference play at 5-0. MSU, which was blanked at Eastern Connecticut, 5-0 on Tuesday, collected 12 hits and scored 10 runs in a game for the eighth time this season.
SEAN MORRISON was 3-for-4 with an RBI while second baseman
DAVE WURST went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Junior right fielder
CHRIS BARAN also drove in two runs with
CRAIG CONWAY and
SCOTT ALLAN each posting two hits and a run batted in.
Freshman left-hander
JEFF GOGAL earned the win as he upped his record to 4-1. Gogal allowed a run and three hits with eight strikeouts and five walks.

JON KURTIN and Ric Haas closed out the game for MSU, which scored six times in its final two at-bats to break the game open.
Allan gave the Red Hawks a 1-0 lead in the first inning as he doubled to left-center scoring Conway, who had reached on a one-out walk. The Scarlet Raptors (16-6, 5-2 NJAC) tied the game in the bottom of the second on a Barry Huver RBI single to right field.
MSU went back on top for good in the fourth with three runs. Allan led off with a single and stole second.
JEFF SCHRIBER walked and Morrison followed with a single scoring Allan with the go-ahead run. Montclair then took advantage of Rutgers-Camden wildness as three straight walks produced two more runs and a 4-1 Red Hawk lead.
Gogal kept the game there until his teammates widened the lead with a four-run eighth inning. Wurst singled in the first run with Baran doubling home two more making the score 7-1. Conway delivered Baran with a single for the final run. Schriber capped the scoring for the Red Hawks in the ninth with a two-run home run to left.
Montclair State is back out on the road again on Saturday, April 14 taking on the other Rutgers satellite campus. The Red Hawks face Rutgers-Newark at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
