Haverford, PA - Freshman forward SIRAH ODEH's goal in the first minute of the second half proved to be the difference as Montclair State captured the Haverford College Kickoff Tournament with a 1-0 win over Haverford on Sunday afternoon.
Odeh (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) snapped a scoreless tie just after halftime as she beat Haverford goaltender JEN TROWBRIDGE with a shot into the upper left hand corner of the net.
It would be the only goal the Red Hawks (1-0-1) would need as the MSU defense allowed just 10 shots in the game. Goalkeeper STEPHANIE ROMANKO (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) made four saves as she recorded her 31st career shutout.
