Upper Montclair, NJ - Senior midfielder DANIELLE MALYKSA (Dayton, NJ/South Brunswick) scored in the 23rd minute as Montclair State won its second straight contest with a 1-0 shutout of Ursinus College at Sprague Field on Wednesday evening.
The Red Hawks (2-0-1) defense allowed just one shot in the contest as they posted their third shutout in as many games this season. ERIN CANTWELL (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) made nine saves in goal for the Bears (1-1-1), who were outshot, 17-1 in the game.
Malyska provided the only scoring in the game 22:14 in as she collected a loose ball at the 20-yard line and fired a shot that hit the underneath of the crossbar. It was the first goal of the season for Malyska.
MSU goalkeeper STEPHANIE ROMANKO (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) recorded her 32nd career shutout despite not having to make any saves.
