Wayne, NJ - Sophomore midfielder JESSICA KOCH (Blackwood, NJ/Triton) tallied the lone goal as Montclair State edged rival William Paterson University, 1-0 at Wightman Field on Wednesday evening.
SUSAN HINDS (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) added an assist and STEPHANIE ROMANKO (N. Brunswick, NJ/N. Brunswick) made seven saves for the Red Hawks, who remained unbeaten (6-0-2) as they improved to 2-0-1 in the NJAC.
Koch tallied the only goal of the game as she lobbed a shot past WPU goaltender HEATHER TABMAN (Morganville, NJ/Delaware Valley) at the 25:30 mark.
That's the way the game would stand as Romanko stopped several key shots down the stretch, including a punchout in the five three minutes.
Tabman made three saves for the Pioneers, who outshot MSU, 11-5.
