Upper Montclair, NJ - The Montclair State University field hockey team won its fourth consecutive contest tonight, topping visiting Drew University by a 3-1 score at Sprague Field thanks to two goals by senior attacker

Sophomore attacker Kara Fetter (Swell, NJ/Washington Township) opened the scoring for the visiting Rangers at 24:21, scoring off a rebound in front. Popes tied the game for the Red Hawks with less than a minute remaining in the first half, firing the ball in through a crowd at the left post.

LEA SMITH (Littlestown, PA/Littlestown) notched the game-winning goal for the Red Hawks (5-3) on a deflection just 4:30 into the second half, before Popes closed out the scoring with just under 19 minutes remaining off an assist from Smith.
Popes has now scored nine goals in her last five games, and leads MSU in scoring with 11 goals and one assist for 23 points in eight games this fall.
