SARAH LEVINE (Pequannock, NJ/Pequannock) scored with 7:25 to play in overtime as Montclair State captured the Wesley College Fall Field hockey Tournament with a 1-0 win over Wesley on Sunday afternoon.
The win was the sixth in a row for the Red Hawks (7-3), the longest in the 40-year history of the program. It is also the second in-season tournament win over MSU. Last year, Montclair won the season-opening Big Sticks Tournament at Hood College.
Levine notched her second overtime goal of the season as she scored the game-winner in MSU's 2-1 win over Wilkes on September 13th. She was named to the All-Tournament Team along with
LAURA POPES (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional). Junior midfielder
DONNA RUSSO (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
TRISHA WINKLE (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township) made 12 saves as she recorded her first shutout of the season. Montclair outshot Wesley, 15-13.
