New York, NY (09/05/01) - The Montclair State University men's soccer team fell for the first time this season, in its first road contest of the campaign, 1-0, in overtime at CCNY.
Santiago Helman notched the game's only goal on his ninth shot of the afternoon, converting a rebound for the Beavers at 99:36 at the Herman Goldman Center in New York City. Senior goalkeeper ALEX LUNA (Newark, NJ/Hudson Catholic) finished with six saves for Montclair, including a spectacular one-handed point-blank stop on Helman with eight-and-a-half minutes remaining in regulation.
MSU (2-1), which was outshot, 18-17, returns to action at the Seashore Classic at Richard Stockton College in Pomona, NJ on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7-8, against Roanoke (VA) and Allegheny (PA), respectively.
