New York, NY (01/07/02) - The MSU women's basketball team got back on track with a 70-42 win on Monday evening at York (NY) College.
The Red Hawks never trailed in posting a 30-20 halftime lead, and put the game away in the second half by outscoring the host Cardinals by 18 points.
MSU shot 44.4 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range while hitting 12-of-16 free throws and outrebounding York by a 41-35 margin.
MSU junior center JASMINE BATTS (Carteret, NJ) and senior forward STEPHANIE ELLERBE(Pennsauken, NJ) led all players with 13 points apiece.
Batts added a game-high 11 rebounds, six steals and three blocks, while Ellerbe posted nine rebounds and two assists.
Each of MSU's 11 players scored at least one point in helping to break the Red Hawks' two-game winless string.
