Wilkes-Barre, PA (10/19/02) --- The Montclair State University field hockey team won for the fifth time in six games with today's 1-0 triumph at Wilkes University. MSU (8-3 overall) has now recorded six shutouts this season, and is 5-0 in one-goal games.

Jen Carbonaro (Howell, NJ/Howell) scored on a penalty shot with 10:55 remaining to snap a scoreless tie. TRISHA WINKLE (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township) helped make the lead hold up as she stopped 15 shots for earn her sixth shutout of the season.

Montclair State outshot Wilkes, 16-15, with Wilkes holding an 11-9 edge in penalty corners.

Desireee Podrasky had nine saves for the Colonels, who lost at Montclair, 2-1 in overtime last season.
