Mahwah, NJ - The MontclairState University women's basketball team recorded its seventh win in its last nine outings with a 70-64 overtime victory at Ramapo College on Saturday, Feb. 9. MSU, which avenged a 60-50 home loss to Ramapo back on Jan. 9, is now 12-11 overall, and 8-8 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play with two conference games remaining.
The Red Hawks, who trailed Ramapo 33-22 at halftime, took a 42-41 lead with seven minutes remaining in regulation on a 3-point shot by SHIRAH ODEH, and maintained the lead until Ramapo tied the game at 53-53 with its own three-pointer withjust ten seconds left. MSU then outscored the host Roadrunners, 17-11, in overtime, making 9-of-10 free throws with Odeh going 4-for-4 from the foul line.
JASMINE BATTS led MSU with 15 points and had nine rebounds before fouling out, while STEPHANIE CROLEY paced Montclair with 18 rebounds and added 12 points. STEPHANIE ELLERBE contributed 13 rebounds and 10 points as MSU outrebounded RC, 70-42.
