Jersey City, NJ (4/16/02) - The Montclair State University softball team stretched its winning streak to eight games with a sweep of host New Jersey City University today. The Red Hawks dispatched the Gothic Knights, 11-3, in six innings in Game One, and then held on for a 5-3 victory in Game Two. TARA TODARO and CRYSTAL SWEENEY picked up pitching wins for Montclair, while KARI McDONNELL hit two home runs, two doubles and drove in seven runs in all while collecting seven hits in seven at-bats. MSU is now 21-9 overall and 8-4 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play, and visits Rutgers-Camden on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in an NJAC doubleheader.
