Wheaton, MA (08/30) – The Montclair State University women's soccer team dropped its 2002 opener today to Oneonta (NY) College at the Adidas Classic hosted by Wheaton (MA) College.

Senior goalkeeper STEPHANIE ROMANKO (North Brunswick, NJ) had 16 saves for MSU, while sophomore midfielder STEPHANIE SABALIAUSKAS (Edison, NJ) tallied MSU's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 35th minute of play to pull the Red Hawks to within a goal at the time.

The opposing Red Dragons, who outshot MSU, 25-7, scored twice in the first 30 minutes of play to take a 2-0 lead before tacking on an insurance goal in the 88th minute.

MSU now faces Endicott (MA), which fell to host Wheaton earlier today, 3-0, tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
