Upper Montclair, NJ (9/24/02)- Freshman outside hitter LAUREN SHEARS (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) collected 25 kills, 19 digs and five total blocks as William Paterson moved past the .500 mark with a 3-1 victory over Montclair State in New Jersey Athletic Conference women's volleyball action at Panzer Gymansium on Tuesday evening.

Sophomore JENNIFER CIRELLO (Rochelle Park, NJ/Hackensack) and senior JEN FROONJIAN (New Milford, NJ/New Milford) added 12 kills apiece for the Lady Pioneers, who used a 6-0 rally in Game #1 for a 30-24 victory. Montclair State won the second game, 30-28 before the Lady Pioneers (7-6, 1-1 NJAC) won the final two games, 30-22 and 30-19.

Senior hitter STACEY JOHNSON (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County) had 21 kills and 11 digs for Montclair State (5-5, 2-2 NJAC), which had its two-match winning streak snapped. Sophomore TIFFANY ACIZ (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) added 15 kills, 14 digs and three blocks for the Red Hawks.

Setters DENI SOBIECK (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) of William Paterson and MSU's JENNIFER OLAN (Jersey City, NJ/McNair Academy) each registered 46 assists.
