New Paltz, NY (9/04/02) - The Montclair State volleyball team opened its 2002 season with a 3-1 victory over SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday evening. After dropping the first game 30-27, the Red Hawks (1-0) won the next three by the scores of 30-25, 30-19 and 30-14.

Sophomore TIFFANY ACIZ (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) led MSU with 16 kills, eight digs and seven service aces while fellow classmate JENNIFER OLAN (Jersey City, NJ/Academic) collected 27 assists.
Freshman KELLY MCGUIRE (Upper Saddle River, NJ/No. Highlands) added six service aces.

The Red Hawks will return to action on Tuesday, September 10th as they travel to Rutgers-Camden for their first NJAC match of the season. Rutgers-Camden is the newest addition to the conference.
