Upper Montclair, NJ (01/11/03) - The Montclair State women's swimming and diving team fell to 4-4 overall this season with a 156.5-103.5 loss to Division II East Stroudsburg University at Panzer Pool on Saturday afternoon.

The meet was the first for the Red Hawks since defeating Kings Point on December 13th.

Montclair State senior REGINA POTOCNIE(Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) finished first in the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:04.86 seconds, and also won the 200 butterfly (2:25.95).

COLLEEN GRIFFIN (Bloomfield, NJ/Lacordaire Academy) was the only other MSU swimmer to take first place honors as she won the 100 freestyle (58.57). Griffin also placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:03.75)

Montclair State returns to action on January 15 at College Misercordia (PA). It will be a men's and women's meet. Last year, both teams captured victories, the women won 116-79 while the Red Hawk men posted a 100-79 triumph.
