Pomona, NJ (1/25/03) - The Montclair State University women's basketball team lost today at Richard Stockton College, 80-68, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest. MSU is now 8-7 overall (4-6 NJAC), after suffering its fourth defeat in its last five outings.
Freshman
EBONY ALLEN (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) scored a game high 23 points for the Red Hawks.
ERIN SCHULTZ (West Milford, NJ/West Milford) added 17 points while teammate
JASMINE BATTS (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) contributed 15 points on the afternoon.
The Ospreys led by as much as 11 points in the first half, but Montclair closed the gap to head into halftime down by one, 38-37. MSU went on an 14-4 run to end the half, led by 7 points from Batts and Schultz respectively.
Richard Stockton then sprinted to a quick 45-37 lead in the second half to hold off the Red Hawks for the 80-68 victory.
Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday evening, as they take Rutgers-Newark in a 8:00pm start at Panzer Gymnasium.
