St. Leo, FL(10/11/03) - The Montclair State women's soccer team won for the third time in its last five outings with today's 4-1 victory over NCAA Division II host St. Leo (FL) College. Sophomore forward KELLY DUTKO (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) scored two goals and sophomore midfielder JESS AMENDOLA (Union, NJ/Union) had two assists as the Red Hawks improved to 8-3-0 overall.

MSU took a 1-0 lead just 10:14 into the game as Dutko scored off an assist from Amendola. The duo combined again on the Red Hawks' second goal just 3:45 later for the game-winning goal and a 2-0 MSU lead. Freshman defender RUBY RUSSELL (Torrance, CA/South) made it 3-0 for Montclair at 33:19 off an assist from senior midfielder STEPHANIE SANTOS (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park), before Casie Poyssick connected for St. Leo just over six minutes later to spoil MSU's shutout bid. Junior forward STEPHANIE SANTOS (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park) closed out the scoring for Montclair with 1:54 remaining in regulation with her team-leading 12th goal of the season.

MSU outshot St. Leo, 16-8, while the Red Hawks had six corner kicks to the host Lions' two attempts. Junior goalkeeper SUSAN HINDS (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) finished with four saves in playing the entire game for Montclair State, which returns north to visit New Jersey Athletic Conference rival New Jersey City University on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 3:30 p.m. in Jersey City.
