Hoboken, NJ (10/22/03) - The Montclair State women's soccer team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with today's 2-0 loss at Stevens Tech. It was the first loss for the Red Hawks,(11-4 overall, 6-1 NJAC) since a 3-1 setback at Florida Southern back on Oct. 8, and the first time MSU had been shut out this season. Junior goalkeeper SUSAN HINDS (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) made three saves for Montclair, which outshot Stevens, 14-8.

MSU, ranked fourth in this week's NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings, surrendered its first goal since Oct. 11 when Valerie Barnhart tallied for the host Ducks at 28:02 of today's first half with help from Kim Mirra. The score remained unchanged until Stevens added an insurance goal by Rebecca Quinn, assisted by Barnhart, with just one second remaining in regulation. Rommy Guevara had eight saves for Stevens, which outcornered MSU, 3-2.

The Red Hawks return to action this Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1:00 p.m. when they host The College of New Jersey at MSU Soccer Park at Pittser Field in a key conference matchup.
