Florham, NJ (10/04/03) – The Montclair State University volleyball team once again split a pair of matches, in the second and final day of the Devils Classic held at FDU-Florham. The Red Hawks fell, 3-0, to the U.S Coast Guard Academy, but defeated St. Joseph's (Brooklyn), 3-1, to go to 6-22 overall on the year.

JENNIFER OLAN (Jersey City, NJ/Academic) had 17 assists for MSU while sophomore defender Joanna Cortez (Paterson, NJ/East Side) collected a team-high 11 digs and freshman hitter
ASIA LIVINGSTON (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County Tech) posted a team-best 13 kills.
The Red Hawks rebounded to top St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) in four games, winning three straight (30-23, 30-20, 30-26) after dropping the opener by a 30-24 score. Olan finished with 31 assists while Livingston and sophomore hitter
BROOKSHIELD LAURENT (East Orange, NJ/Marylawn) each recorded a team-high 18 kills. Livingston also notched a team-leading five service aces while Laurent came up with a team-best 11 digs.
MSU returns to New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 7, when it hosts Ramapo College at 7:00 p.m. at Panzer Gym. The Red Hawks are 1-4 in NJAC play in 2003.
