Lakeland, FL (10/8/03) - The Montclair State women's soccer team fell today at Florida Southern, 3-1, to drop to 7-3 overall this season. Junior forward STEPHANIE SABALIAUSKAS (Edison, NJ/Mt. St. Mary Academy) scored her team-leading 11th goal of the year to pull MSU into a 1-1 tie with just under 30 minutes left, but host FSC (7-4) then scored twice in a 19-minute span to earn the win.

Junior goalkeeper SUSAN HINDS (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) played the first half in goal for the Red Hawks, stopping one of two shots. Freshman netminder KRISTIN KUHMANN (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) took over in the second half, making two saves on four Mocassin shots. Montclair outshot Florida Southern, 17-9, on the evening, including 9-3 in the first half alone. The Red Hawks also had the edge in corner kicks, 8-2.

FSC took a 1-0 lead at 34:55 of regulation on a one-touch shot by Joanie deHaven, her eighth goal of the campaign, before Sabaliauskas tied the game at 60:11, tapping in a pass across the goalmouth by MSU sophomore forward KELLY DUTKO (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert). Taylor Greene then put the host Moccasins ahead for good at 64:00 after taking a pass down the right side, notching her sixth score of the season. DeHaven added an insurance tally at 82:54, again scoring off a pass from the right wing. Kim Fish finished with 10 saves for FSC.
