Washington, DC (11/29/03) - Montclair State jumped out to an early 52-39 halftime lead en route to a 105-60 victory over Gallaudet in the opening round of the Gallaudet Holiday Tournament Saturday evening in Washington, DC.
The Red Hawks point total of 105 was the first time over the century mark in over 15 years. MSU's (then MSC) last time occured against Rutgers-Camden on January 7, 1987 when the Indians defeated Camden 102-43.
Montclair led by as much as 17 points in the first half as 
AMY SNYDER (Cranford, NJ/Union Catholic) netted 2 quick baskets as part of a 12 point first half performance.
The Red Hawks then dominated the second half outrebounding Gallaudet 30-23, and committing just 5 turnovers. 
KRISTEN POTENZONE (Totowa, NJ/DePaul Catholic) led MSU in the second half with 12 points on her way to a game high total of 19.
AMANDA MULLANEY (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Ford) recorded the Red Hawks only double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds as part of a squad that had six members registering double digits in points.
Montclair set new team records as they attempted 94 field goals, a new program record (previously 90 vs Lincoln University in 1992) and most points in a half with 53 (previously 52 vs Rutgers-Newark in 1991). The Red Hawks also tied the team record of most 3 point field goals with 15.
