Little Falls, NJ - Matt Calloway (Blakewood, NJ/Highland) went 5-for-9 with four RBI as Rutgers-Camden (9-8, 4-2 NJAC) swept Montclair State (7-10-1, 2-3 NJAC) in New Jersey Athletic Conference action 4-2 in 10 innings and 9-1 in the nightcap.
Frank Marciano (Erial, NJ/Highland) finished 4-for-8 with three RBI for the Scarlet Raptors, winners of three straight.
JOE GIACOMIAZZIO (East Brunswick, NJ/E. Brunswick) went 3-for-6 with an RBI for the Red Hawks who reached base 15 times by a base-on-balls and left 17 men on base in game number one.
Montclair State took advantage of three ninth inning walks as they rallied in game number one for two runs in the bottom of the inning.
DANNY RODRIGUEZ (S. Brunswick, NJ/S. Brunswick) singled across one and
MIKE HALLIGAN (Pompton Plains, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) walked with the bases loaded to send the game into extra innings. Marciano responded for the Scarlet Raptors in the top of the 10th with a two out, two RBI single for a 4-2 advantage.
Dan McKenna (Marlton, NJ/Bishop Eustace Prep) earned the win in relief. McKenna (1-1) tossed one inning allowing just one hit, striking out one and walking one. Sophomore Matt Ulmer (Beverly, NJ/Holy Cross) earned Rutgers-Camden's first save of the season. Ulmer pitched the bottom of the 10th, walking one. Southpaw
JEFF GOGAL (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) suffered his first loss of the year. Gogal (3-1) tossed nine plus innings allowing four runs, three earned, and ten hits. He also struck out five and walked one.
Ulmer then dominated in game number two. Ulmer (1-1) threw seven innings giving up one run on two hits, fanning nine and walking three.
Rutgers-Camden received all the run support they would need as they plated three in the top of the third. Highlighting the scoring was Calloway's two out, two RBI single.
