Upper Montclair, NJ (09/12/03) -Junior midfielder TATIANA PEREA (Dallas, TX/Ursine Academy) scored with just over two minutes remaining in the second sudden-death overtime session to lift New York University to a 2-1 victory over the Montclair State women's soccer team at MSU Soccer Park at Pittser Field.

NYU would tie the game some 14 minutes later as sophomore forward JACLYN THAYER (Corona del Mar, CA/Corona del Mar) headed in a pass at the right post from freshman midfielder JENNIFER TAVARES (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel). The goal ended a season-long shutout streak of 194 minutes by MSU junior goalkeeper SUSAN HINDS (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), who finished the game with four saves. NYU sophomore netminder ALISON MYERS (Bellevue, WA/Lakeside Upper School) recorded six saves, including a breakaway stop on Red Hawk junior forward LIZ D'ALTO (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) five minutes into the second half.
