Brookville, NY (9/18/03) -Senior NICOLE PUSO scored the game's lone goal in the second half as ninth-ranked Montclair State remained unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over C.W. Post on Thursday afternoon. 

The win upped MSU's record to 4-0 this season, while C.W. Post, which lost its second straight, fell to 1-2.

Puso snapped a scoreless tie with 23:47 left as she notched her first goal of the season. Senior LEA SMITH stopped the penalty corner inbound pass, then passed it along to MEGAN ULICNY, who proceeded to push it forward to Puso with 23:47 left to play. 

It was the sixth time this season the Red Hawks have scored off a penalty corner.

The contest, played under extremely windy conditions, saw both teams play tight defense throughout. Goalkeeper TRISHA WINKLE made seven stops on the afternoon as she posted her seventh shutout of the season. Christy Gardner made eight saves for the Pioneers, who were outshot in the contest, 10-7.

Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, September 20th, as the Red Hawks travel to Pennsylvania to take on 10th-ranked Muhlenberg College at 1:00 pm.
